Importing data with Magic Import
Load master data, articles, SKUs and stock from an Excel workbook, review issues row by row, and import only what is ready.

Overview
Magic Import reads an Excel workbook, recognises each sheet (master data, articles, SKUs, stock and so on), checks every row, and lets you review and finalize rows before anything is saved. It is the fastest way to set up a new catalog or update many records at once.
Guidelines
Start from the template
Ask your administrator for the data import template. Sheets are recognised by their names, so keep the template's sheet names.
Imports never delete
Magic Import adds and updates records. It never deletes existing master records.
Steps
Step 1: Open Magic Import and set it up
Open Magic Import (from Catalog or the Magic Import / Update button in Master Data). Choose the Organization, leave Import Type on Auto-detect (or pick one), choose a Target Site if you are importing stock (it is optional for master data), choose the Barcode Model, and select your Excel File (.xlsx or .xls).
Step 2: Parse the workbook
Click Parse Workbook. Each sheet is matched by name. Sheets it doesn't recognise are listed under Manual Mapping so you can tell it what they contain.
Step 3: Read the issue summary
The Issue Summary counts problems found. Errors (red) block a row from importing until they are fixed. Warnings (amber) don't block the row but are worth checking.
Step 4: Review and finalize rows
In Mismatch Review & Row Finalization, go through the rows. Use Finalize Row for a clean row, Acknowledge & Finalize for a row with warnings you accept, or Import Row to import a single row straight away.
Step 5: Import
Click Import Finalized to import the rows you finalized, or Import All to import every eligible row (the button shows how many).
Terms
- Finalize
Marking a reviewed row as ready to import.
- Barcode Model
How barcodes in the file are treated when SKUs are created or matched.
Key points
Red errors block a row; amber warnings don't.
Nothing is saved until you import.
Warnings
Stock recount rows replace the counted quantity. They are never imported automatically; you must finalize each one explicitly.
FAQs
One of my sheets was ignored.
Its name wasn't recognised. Map it under Manual Mapping, or rename it to match the template.
Can I import the same file twice?
Yes. Existing records are updated rather than duplicated, and nothing is deleted.
