Overview

A SKU is one sellable variant of an article, such as a single size and colour. Stock, prices, purchase orders and sales are all recorded per SKU. The SKUs page lets you search and filter the catalog, add SKUs and open each SKU's details.

Guidelines

  1. Create the article first

Every SKU belongs to an article. If the article doesn't exist yet, create it under Articles.

  2. Use a consistent SKU code pattern

A pattern such as article code, colour and size (for example VLRA-RNCT-BLK-M) makes SKUs easy to recognise and search.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open SKUs and filter

Go to Catalog → SKUs and choose your Organization. Narrow the list with Search, Article, Status, Brand, Division, Season, Color and Size. Use Columns to choose which columns are shown.

  2. Step 2: Add a SKU

Click Add SKU. Choose the Article and enter SKU Code and SKU Name (all required). Then add Size, Color and Fabric, and the MRP (₹) and Cost Price (₹), and save.

  3. Step 3: View a SKU's details

Click View on a row to see its Identity, Pricing & Tax (MRP, cost and GST rate), Unit of Measure and Barcodes.

  4. Step 4: Deactivate a SKU

Use Deactivate on its row when the variant is discontinued. It stays available in past documents and reports.

Terms

MRP

Maximum retail price. The SKU's MRP is the default selling price when no price list sets another price.

Cost Price

What the SKU costs you to buy or make, used for margin and stock value.

Key points

  • The SKU's MRP is used whenever no price list entry exists for it.

  • The GST rate comes from the article's tax category.

Notes

To add many SKUs at once, use Magic Import instead of the form.

FAQs

Where do I change the selling price of a SKU?

Either update its MRP here, or set a different price in a price list under Pricing → Price Lists.

A size or colour is missing from the dropdown.

Add it under Catalog → Master Data → Sizes or Colors.
