Overview

The Production page (Production MIS) tracks garments being made. You create a work order for a style with a planned quantity, then post a stage log each day for the units completed at each stage: cutting, stitching, finishing, packing and dispatch. The page totals the quantities per work order and shows a work-in-progress snapshot and daily production.

Guidelines

  1. Use a clear work order numbering scheme

Work orders are picked by their WO number when you post logs, so a consistent pattern makes them easy to find.

  2. Post logs daily, per stage

Post one log for each stage worked on each day. Set the Production date if you are entering a past day's figures.

  3. Record rejects

Enter rejected units in Rejected qty rather than leaving them out, so output and quality are both visible.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Production

Click Production in the sidebar. The page shows the Create Work Order and Post Stage Log forms, the Work Orders table, and the WIP Snapshot and Daily Production reports.

  2. Step 2: Create a work order

In Create Work Order, enter the WO number, Style ID and Planned qty (all required). Optionally add the WO date, Season ID, Factory site ID, Planned completion date and Notes. Click Create Work Order. A Work order created. message confirms it.

  3. Step 3: Post a stage log

In Post Stage Log, choose the Work order and the Stage: CUT, STITCH, FINISH, PACK or DISPATCH. Enter the Completed qty (required) and, optionally, the Production date, Rejected qty and Notes. Click Post Production Log.

  4. Step 4: Follow progress in Work Orders

The Work Orders table shows each order's WO Number, Style, WO Date and Status, with the Planned, Cut, Stitched, Finished and Dispatched quantities. Each stage log adds its completed quantity to that stage's total.

  5. Step 5: Review WIP and daily output

WIP Snapshot shows work still in progress. Daily Production shows output by day.

Terms

Work order (WO)

An instruction to produce a planned quantity of one style.

Stage log

A record of how many units were completed, and rejected, at one stage on one day.

WIP

Work in progress: units started but not yet finished and dispatched.

Key points

  • Stage totals on a work order build up from the stage logs posted against it.

  • Posting a stage log moves the work order's status to in progress.

  • The Work order list in Post Stage Log shows work orders by their WO number.

Notes

  • The Production menu appears only when the production feature is enabled for your organisation.

  • The two forms are shown only to users whose role can edit Production across the whole organisation. Others see the tables and reports only.

  • Work orders and stage logs can't be edited or removed from this page, so check figures before you post them.

FAQs

I can see the tables but not the forms. Why?

Creating work orders and posting logs needs edit access to Production for the whole organisation. Ask an administrator to check your role.

Why isn't my work order in the Work order list?

The list shows work orders already created for your organisation. Create the work order first, then post logs against it.
