Overview

Store Analytics shows what your in-store cameras see: how many people came in and went out, when the store was busiest, which zones held shoppers' attention, and what happened to items they picked up. The section has five pages under Store Analytics in the sidebar: Overview, Footfall, Zone Heatmap, Event Feed and Customer Journeys. Every page works for one site or for All Sites, over a period you choose.

Guidelines

  1. Set up cameras and zones first

Footfall counting and zone dwell time need entrance lines and area zones configured for each camera in Settings → CV Settings. Until then, the pages show occupancy and people counts only, and a notice tells you how many cameras are streaming without zone configuration.

  2. Pick one site for the deeper views

The conversion funnel, customer mix, Who shops where and Apparel demand panels, the camera filter and Customer Journeys only work for a single site. Choose a site from the site list to see them.

  3. Treat camera estimates as estimates

Figures labelled Est. (such as Est. In Store and Est. Pick / Put) are worked out from camera detections, not from stock or sales records. Use them for trends and comparisons rather than exact counts.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Choose the site and period

Go to Store Analytics → Overview. Pick a site, or leave — All Sites — selected. Choose a period with Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days or Last 30 days, or pick a specific day from the date box (up to 30 days back). Click Refresh to reload the figures straight away.

  2. Step 2: Read the overview

The top row shows Entrance In, Entrance Out, Est. In Store, Peak Occupancy, Est. Pick / Put and Demo Samples. Below it, Hourly Traffic charts entries and exits for each hour. The Zone Activity list (or Camera Activity when no zones are set up) ranks your busiest zones; click Full report to open the zone page.

When one site is selected you also see the Conversion funnel (Entered store → Browsed a zone → Picked an item → Toward checkout, with Abandoned, Misplaced and Pick → Checkout rates), Customer mix by hour, Who shops where and Apparel demand.

  3. Step 3: Check footfall in detail

Open Store Analytics → Footfall. Filter by site and, once a site is chosen, by camera. Switch between By hour and By day. The cards show People Entered, People Exited, Net Balance and Peak Occupancy, followed by the Visitors by Hour (or Day) chart with the peak period, and a By Camera / Entrance table with Total In, Total Out, Balance and Peak Occ for each camera.

  4. Step 4: See which zones hold attention

Open Store Analytics → Zone Heatmap. Use Sort by to rank zones by Detections, Dwell or Occupancy. The Zone Performance table shows heat cells, Engagement, Detections, Avg Dwell, Avg Occupancy and a Status of High, Medium, Low or Idle. Rack Presence lists cameras that detect people near racks, and Visitor Demographics shows the gender and age-group split from entrance cameras.

  5. Step 5: Review individual camera events

Open Store Analytics → Event Feed to see each event the cameras recorded, newest first. Filter by site, camera, event type and period, and choose Show 100, 200 or 500. Click an event-type pill above the table to filter to that type, or ✕ Clear filter to remove it. Where an event is linked to a security gate alert or a snapshot, use EAS or Snap in the Links column to open it. Click Load more to see further events.

  6. Step 6: Follow customer journeys

Open Store Analytics → Customer Journeys and choose a Site (required) and Period. Summary cards count journeys by outcome: Toward Checkout, Returned Correctly, Misplaced, Abandoned and Still Browsing. Filter by Status, then click a journey to expand its timeline: where the item was picked up, the zones the shopper entered, and how the journey ended.

Terms

Est. In Store

Entrance In minus Entrance Out for the period (never below zero): an estimate of how many people are still inside.

Net Balance

On the Footfall page, people entered minus people exited. When it falls below −10 the card warns that the entrance count may be off.

Dwell

How long shoppers stayed in a zone. Avg Dwell is the average time per visit.

Engagement

A 0–100 score combining average occupancy (up to 50 points, reached at 10 people) and estimated visit dwell (up to 50 points, reached at 5 minutes). It reads High at 60 or more, Medium at 30, Active at 10, otherwise Idle.

Est. Pick / Put

The number of times cameras estimate an item was picked up from, or put back on, a rack.

Pick → Checkout

In the conversion funnel, the share of people who picked an item and then carried it toward checkout.

Key points

  • Five pages: Overview, Footfall, Zone Heatmap, Event Feed and Customer Journeys.

  • Footfall counts are distinct people from cameras set up as entrance cameras, not raw line crossings.

  • Funnel, customer mix and journeys need a single site to be selected.

Notes

  • Footfall counts use only cameras set up with the ENTRANCE role. If other cameras also count people, the Footfall page shows their all-camera totals separately.

  • Demographic panels are filled by entrance and checkout cameras. Who shops where needs a department set on each camera.

FAQs

Why does the Hourly Traffic chart say there is no footfall data?

Cameras need to be active and streaming, and footfall counting needs entrance lines configured in Settings → CV Settings. Until then you see occupancy and people counts only.

How often do the figures update?

While a page is open, footfall and zone figures reload about every 90 seconds and the event feed about every minute. Click Refresh to reload at once.

Why is Customer Journeys empty?

Select a site first; the page shows nothing until one is chosen. If a site is selected and it still says No journeys captured in this period, try a longer period.
